
In May 2007, USA-China Initiative CEO Howard Odor and Lucy Liu, Chairman of the North American Chamber of Industry and Commerce, traveled to Shenyang to meet with city and industry leaders. Coming out of days of meetings with officials and tours of the area's businesses, the team secured Trade and Investment Promotion Ambassador Agreements with city districts of Shenyang in the Liaoning Province of China. Returning with these agreements, new business opportunities and relationships with the region's top decision-makers, the group formed an international consortium, called the USA-China Initiative, to gather expertise and resources for business projects in Shenyang, China. The consortium consists of leaders of diverse industries from several countries.
On a return trip to Shenyang in September 2007, USA-China Initiative team and Lucy Liu reinforced their relationships with city and industry leaders. After a week of meetings with officials and tours of the leading businesses in the area, the team secured agreements with various companies and commitments for joint venture projects. Returning with these agreements, the group formally created their company, USA-China Initiative, LLC. Since their return, the team has found it easy to expand their network of experts and resources to support projects in Shenyang, China.
